PrideMD exists because finding LGBTQ+ affirming healthcare shouldn't require guesswork. We built a purpose-designed directory with verified safety scores so every patient can walk into their first appointment with confidence.
How the LGBTQ+ Safety Score Works
Our Safety Score (1-10) is based on:
- +4 pts: Listed in GLMA OutList or LGBTQ Healthcare Directory
- +3 pts: HEI Gold or Silver rated facility (HRC Foundation)
- +2 pts: Provider self-reported affirming (claimed free listing)
- +1 pt: Located in LGBTQ+ friendly zip code
A score of 7-10 = Affirming. 4-6 = Friendly. 1-3 = Unverified.

- NPPES NPI Registry: Free, public database of all US healthcare providers
- GLMA / OutList: LGBTQ+ healthcare provider directory
- HRC Healthcare Equality Index: Ratings for LGBTQ+ inclusive facilities
- Provider Self-Reports: Providers can claim free listings and self-identify as affirming
